“Homage to Dante: Salvador Dali’s Illustrations for the Divine Comedy” presents one of Salvador Dalí’s most celebrated portfolios, his book illustrations for Dante’s “The Divine Comedy” (c. 1308-20). Between 1951 and 1960, Dalí created 100 watercolors to accompany a special edition of Dante’s epic poem. The wood engravings that appear in the portfolio, published in 1960, are based on those original watercolors.

The exhibition was curated by David S. Rubin. “Homage to Dante: Salvador Dalí’s Illustrations for the Divine Comedy” is sponsored by the Park West Foundation and features art on loan from Park West Museum.
